Upintheair
Theatre presents
Upintheair Theatre has been producing original, locally created plays in Vancouver since 1999. The companys mandate is to explore new modes of creating theatre and to produce new work that is challenging and accessible in order to reach both traditional and untapped audiences. The Walking Fish Festival is an annual festival of short-form theatre Upintheair produces in Vancouver. Each year, Upintheair selects between 10 and 12 scripts by new writers from three levels: high school students, post-secondary students and emerging professionals. Directors and actors are drawn from the same strata. The scripts are then dramaturged, cast, rehearsed and presented to the public over five days at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island. |
