EXHIBITION PROPOSAL The Granville Island Cultural Society invites Visual Artists to submit a proposal to show their work in the Waterfront Theatre or Performance Works theatre lobbies throughout the 2013 year. Exhibitions will vary between 4 – 7 weeks in duration. Selected Artists will gain exposure by having their work viewed by thousands of Theatre patrons as well as the opportunity to sell their pieces. The Waterfront Theatre and Performance Works are located in the heart of Vancouver on Granville Island. The theatres are a gathering place for people who come to see the creative and dynamic work of some of the best Theatre Companies and Festivals in Canada, such as the Vancouver Writers Fest, Carousel Theatre, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Fringe Festival, and Children’s Festival. With an estimated 70,000 people visiting the theatres every year, it is an essential space for Canadian Artists to showcase their work.
We are seeking a variety of artwork in various media types (we ask that submissions do not include sculpture or freestanding art). Artwork must be able to hang on the wall and must be suitable for a family audience. The Granville Island Cultural Society receives a 20% commission on all works sold.
