One
of our most popular Busking Locations, the Triangle Square is nestled
in the heart of Granville Island between the Public Market, Net
Loft and La Baguette bakery. From May 16 to September 20, 2009 we
are pleased to showcase the Summer
Entertainment on Granville Island Program. During this time,
the Triangle Square will only be available in the Busker Lottery
Monday thru Fridays. Performers must ensure that neither they nor
members of their audience block the entrance to La Baguette or obstruct
the pathway beneath the awning in front of La Baguette.
The
Market Courtyard
The
Public Market Courtyard has a beautiful view of Downtown Vancouver
and the North Shore Mountains and includes the entire area north
of the Public Market including the steps or "Pit" area.
This is a very popular and active area for lunch goers and bird
lovers. The Public Market Courtyard is also a location for the
Summer Entertainment on Granville
Island Program
The
Fire Lane
The
Fire Lane is located at the front doors to the world famous Granville
Island Public Market. It is best suited for smaller acts such
as solo musicians and variety acts.
Performers
must acknowledge that the Fire Lane provides emergency and delivery
access and must not obstruct the movement of vehicles or persons.
Performers must immediately cease performing and assist in clearing
the area when an emergency vehicle nears the Fire Lane.
Loud
performances are not permitted in the Fire Lane from Monday to
Friday (holidays excepted). Performers who play loudly will be
restricted from playing in the fire lane
Performers
must ensure that the audience does not block or impede traffic
in any way. Performers must actively move people forward, and
off the roadway, throughout the entire performance. A non-performing
member of the group may be needed to ensure that the audience
does not occupy the roadway.

Performers must ensure that the audience

The
Ferry Landing
Located
at the entrance for the False Creek Ferries, this is a fantastic
summer spot, with a backdrop of the Burrard Street Bridge, downtown
Vancouver and Cypress Mountain. Performers may set up in front of
the False Creek Map on the boardwalk.
Located
right in the middle of Railspur Alley, in front of the Agro Cafe,
this busking location is at the heart of the Artist and Artisan
district of Granville Island. Due to the proximity of the Railspur
Alley busking location tothe Railspur Alley merchants, this is
a non-amplified location. Performers here include balloon twisters,
magicians and musicians playing acoustic music, wtih no amplification
allowed.
Foreshore
Walk (Island Entrance)
Located
at the entrance to the marine district of Granville Island, Foreshore
Walk is one of the first things people encounter when entering Granville
Island. Located just outside of Sammy J. Pepper's restaurant, this
busking location is ideal for welcoming visitors to our little peninsula.
Kids
Market Courtyard
What?
A market just for kids? We've got it on Granville Island! Fun for
the whole family can be found at the Kids Market! Fun, food, toys,
and education are all around this fabulous busking location in the
back courtyard, just beside the turtle pond and next to the Granville
Island Water Park. Ever wonder how that magician did that? Head
upstairs to Clownin' Around to find out!
