your work at the Waterfront Theatre and Performance Works on Granville
Island
The
Granville Island Cultural Society invites Visual Artists to submit
proposals to show their work in the Waterfront Theatre and Performance
Works theatre lobbies. This opportunity is open for maximum 2 month
long exhibitions and will run throughout the 2008 Theatre Season.
Selected Artists will gain exposure by having their work viewed by
thousands of Theatre patrons as well as the opportunity to sell their
pieces.
The
Waterfront Theatre and Performance Works are located in the heart
of Vancouver on Granville Island. The theatres are a gathering place
for people who come to see the creative and dynamic work of some of
the best Theatre Companies and Festivals in Canada such as the Vancouver
International Writers Festival, Carousel Theatre and the Vancouver
International Jazz Festival. With an estimated 70,000 people visiting
the theatres every year, it becomes an essential space for Canadian
Artists to showcase their work.
Details:
We
are seeking a variety of artwork in various media types (we ask that
submissions do not include sculpture or freestanding art). Artwork
must be able to hang on the wall and must be suitable for a family
audience. The artist must have a significant body of work in order
to fill the space (average of 10 pieces) or submit a proposal for
a joint exhibition with other artists. The Granville Island Cultural
Society takes a 20% commission on all works sold.
